Mazères
Built
on the old Gallo-Roman villa of Macer (the enclosure wall),
the village of Mazères of the salat, located in the
valley,
depended on the commandery of Montsaunès. The first
mention of
the Sainte-matron vault goes back to 1195. It is located
on a height
between Mazères and Montsaunès.
Mazères obtained its charter in 1292.
